We decided to wait until the weekend to share the news with my family- and to Jackson! We usually have a family get together at my parents house on the weekends, and it just so happened that my parents had planned to grill on Saturday evening, so what better time to share the news! After I found out that I was pregnant, I was on the hunt to find Jackson a "big brother" t-shirt! I stopped by Ladies in Waiting, a fabulous store here in town for expecting mothers (and they usually have EVERYTHING you need!) and of course- they had a big brother t-shirt that was perfect for Jackson! We were all sitting in the living room after dinner on Saturday night and I asked Jackson to show Mops (my mom) his special t-shirt that he had on underneath his long sleeve shirt. It took her a minute to grasp what we were trying to do, but when it dawned on her (and everyone else) there were lots of cheers and congratulations! Jackson was super excited about the thought of being a big brother (even though he tends to forget on a daily basis at this point)! Whew, the news is out! Next, we called John's mom (Mimi) and she was over the moon with excitement! She could not have been happier for us (She has been waiting and WAITING for that phone call!) The next step was to tell our friends. I debated over waiting until my doctors appointment to tell everyone, but my friends are very smart and very observant, and they most certainly would have figured it out before then. So, we turned to good ole Facebook. What better way to quickly let everyone know? Literally, within SECONDS of John posting it on Facebook, the calls and texts started ROLLING in! Gotta love great friends! :)

ReplyDeleteThanks! No, we didn't tell him before hand (mainly because we knew he would blab the second we told him!) so he didn't find out until we spilled the beans to everyone else!
